Gold cells, glass powder and 800 degrees — this is how a single pendant is born.
The gold cells
Everything starts with a drawing. The master fixes thin gold or silver partitions onto a metal base — they trace the outline of the future flower, tiny cells where colour will live.
Glass colour
Each cell is filled with powdered coloured glass — white, blue, violet. Then the piece goes into the kiln: the glass melts and fuses into the cell. The process is repeated several times until the surface is flawless.
Polishing
Finally the surface is polished by hand until the gold partitions and the glass colour become one. A master spends several days on a single pendant — which is why no two pieces are alike.
